John performs from 2 until 4 and then heads to Dayton to join McGuffey Lane
This year, the Center for Older Adults, 800 Cheshire Road in Delaware will be the site for the event. (18th annual Summer Festival). Saturday - June 12 from noon to 8 p.m. An outdoor stage will show case all-day entertainment for the whole family. First on the stage from 12 -1 p.m. are Frank McDonnell and The Golden Buckeyes followed by Erica Blinn from 1 – 2 p.m. Then from 2 - 4 p.m. will be John Schwab (from McGuffey Lane) followed by Island Breeze from 4 - 5:30 p.m. Rounding out the event will be Burning Diesel from 5:30 – 8 p.m. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and relax on the lawn in front of the stage.
In addition, the perennial favorite will be back - the Pig and Corn Roast. Your meal will include your choice of a hot roasted pork sandwich, or a hot shredded chicken sandwich or hot dogs for the kids and the young-at-heart. Side dishes include fresh corn on the cob, potato salad, cole slaw, and baked beans. Lemonade or iced-tea is also included in the ticket price. Pig Roast tickets are $6 in advance (on sale now) or $7 at the event. Several youth groups will be holding their own fund-raising bake sales where you can buy scrumptious desserts. Enjoy an ice cream favor or pop corn while watching the stage entertainment.
Admission and parking are free with lots of handicap spaces in front of the facility. Public parking will also be on Glenn Parkway and at the new Grady facility on Ohio Health Boulevard. DATA busses will provide shuttle transportation, back and forth, from the Grady facility to the event. Passenger golf carts will shuttle from the handicap parking to the main attractions.
